BELFIATO QUINTET 🇨🇿
Belfiato Quintet v loňském roce oslavil 20 let své existence. Soubor studoval na Pražské konzervatoři, HAMU a ve Vídni. Členové kvintetu působí v předních pražských orchestrech (Česká filharmonie, Národního divadlo, Prague Philharmonia). Získali množství ocenění na mezinárodních interpretačních soutěžích, např. na soutěži ARD v Mnichově, Pražském Jaru a Concertinu Praga.
Belfiato během svých studijních let získalo řadu ocenění, např. cenu A. Rejchy na festivalu v rakouském Semmeringu nebo 3. cenu na mezinárodní soutěži v Marseille. Soubor vystupuje pravidelně v Čechách i v zahraničí. Představil se například v koncertní sezoně České filharmonie, Českého spolku pro komorní hudbu a komorních cyklech Symfonického orchestru hl.m. Prahy FOK a PKF – Prague Philharmonia, spolupracoval s Českou televizí a Českým rozhlasem. V ČT se objevil v dokumentu Theodory Remundové „České komorní zlato“ (ke shlédnutí na webu ČT ivysilani.cz). V zahraničí vystoupil např. na festivalu v Montpellier, koncertních řadách v Katowicích, Wroclawi a řadě německých měst nebo na velvyslanectvích v Londýně a Tokyu.
Belfiato Quintet má na kontě již řadu alb natočených pro vydavatelství Supraphon. Po debutovém CD Foerster/Haas/Janáček(2017), následovalo album A. Rejcha: Wind Quintets (2019). Za provedení Rejchových kvintetů získalo Belfiato cenu Classic Prague Awards. Následovala nahráka významných světových autorů nazvaná „ELEMENTS“ (Nielsen, Hindemith, Barber, Tomasi, Pärt , 2021). Na cenu Českého spolku pro komorní hudbu za rok 2021 navázal recitál ve Dvořákově síni Rudolfina, na kterém zazněla kromě hudby z alba ELEMENTS také světová premiéra úpravy Smyčccového kvartetu „Z mého života“ Bedřicha Smetany, objednaná k příležitosti roku České hudby (arr. K. Chudý). V následujícím roce Belfiato Quintet provedl s Komorní filharmonií Pardubice Concerto grosso Jaroslava Pelikána. V komorním cyklu Prague Philharmonia uvedl také premiéru úpravy Janáčkova Zápisníku zmizelého (arr. J. Pelikán) s tenoristou Petrem Nekorancem.
S Pražským filharmonickým sborem spolupracovalo BQ na albu Stravinskij/ Janáček/ Bartók: Village Stories (2023).V posledním albu z roku 2025 představuje Belfiato málo známou tvorbu českého emigranta Karla Husy, které se letos chystá uvést v Českém centru v New Yorku. Tato nahrávka vznikla ve spolupráci s klavíristou Matoušem Zukalem, dirigentem Emmanuelem Villaumem a orchestrem Prague Philharmonia. S tímto orchestrem vystoupil Belfiato Quintet na zahajovacím koncertě jeho 31. sezóny, na kterém uvedl Serenádu Karla Husy.
BELFIATO QUINTET 🇬🇧
Belfiato Quintet celebreted its 20th birthday last year. The ensemble studied at the Prague Conservatory, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and Wien. Members of the Belfiato Quintet play in leading Czech symphonic orchestras, such as the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, and National Theatre in Prague. They have been awarded prizes in international competitions as ARD Munich, Prague Spring and Concertino Praga. During its studies, Belfiato earned prizes at international competitions, such as the “Antonin Rejcha prize” at Semmering Festival, Austria or the 3rd prize at the “Henri Tomasi” Competition in Marseille (2011).
Belfiato Quintet performs regularly in the Czech Republic (chamber music cycles of the Czech Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra or Prague Philharmonia) as well as abroad, on concert seasons such as the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, numerous towns in Germany and Austria or Czech Embassies in London and Tokyo. In 2014 Belfiato was invited to perform on the Prague Spring Festival and in 2018 the ensemble made its debut in the great Dvořák hall in Prague, a concert highly acclaimed in the czech press. With the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Pardubice Belfiato presented Concerto grosso for wind quintet and strings by Czech composer J. Pelikán.
In June 2017 Belfiato Quintet released its debut CD Foerster/ Haas/ Janáček, Music for Wind Instruments on the Czech label Supraphon. The second, very successful CD Antonín Rejcha: Wind Quintets followed in 2019. For the performance of Rejcha´s music on this album, Belfiato was awarded the 2019 Classic Prague Award in the chamber music category. For its achievements in the 2021 season Belfiato was awarded the Czech Chamber Music Association prize. This comprised a recital in the Dvořák hall, which programme comprised also a premiere of Bedřich Smetana String Quartet No. 1 „From my life“, commisioned by Belfiato and arr. by K. Chudý. In 2022 the ensemble appeared again in the Prague Philharmonia chamber music season. On this occasion Belfiato offered Leoš Janáček`s „The Diary of One Who Dissappeared“ (arr. by J. Pelikán) in cooperation with the renowned Czech tenor Petr Nekoranec.
The next album „ELEMENTS“ (featuring music by Nielsen, Hindemith, Barber, Tomasi, Pärt) was released in 2023. Belfiato collaborated with the Prague Philharmonic Choir on its acclaimed album Stravinskij/ Janáček/ Bartók: Village Stories (Supraphon 2023). In its latest album (2025) Belfiato presents the work of the Czech composer Karel Husa, in cooperation with pianist Matouš Zukal, conductor Emmanuel Villaume and the Prague Philharmonia. At the orchestra’s 31st season opening concert Belfiato performed Husa’s Serenade for Wind Quintet and Chamber Orchestra.
